A Midsummer Night’s Paragraph/ A Midsummer Night’s Classroom

“Out of this wood do not desire to go.”

A Midsummer Night's Dream, 3. 1

Much of the action in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” takes place in an enchanted forest, where the lives of gods and mortals intertwine. Before we begin, I want to hear from you about your own dreams. If you had to describe your own “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” what would that dream be? What does this title conjure up for you? In 1-2 detailed paragraphs, describe what your midsummer night’s dream would be.

As we begin the play, we want to give our classroom the essence of the enchanted and lush forest where a good deal of this story takes place. Bring in some artifact or image to add to out forest collage. It could be an image or collection of images you find from outside sources. It could also be something you create. Be creative and remember that this collage can be 3-D.
